Augustus Funeral Home regrets to announce the passing of Mrs. Nelda Elizabeth Dyer, daughter of the late Winifred Smith Seaman and Alfred Robert Seaman; wife of the late George Dyer Sr.; loving mother of Winnifred Simmons (the late Warren) and George Dyer Jr. (Jenita); cherished grandmother of Camille Smalling (Andrew), Warren Simmons(Glenisha), Tiara Rogers, George III, Geor-dan, and G’zai Dyer; devoted great-grandmother of Amara Smalling, Adia and Amali Simmons, Taraji and NiyéBurgess, George IV and Harlo Dyer. Nelda was predeceasd by her siblings: Coralita Darrell (the late Gilbert), Alfred Jr. (the late Cecily), Marvin Sr., Rudolph Sr., and Vincent Sr. Seaman (Vivian); sister-in-law of the late Albert Dyer (Barbara), Ellen Cartwright, Lucille Wells, and Alice Russell (the late Earl “Townsey” Russell); beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family; special cousin Louise Smith, cherished caregiver Atiriah Morgan, and special friends Reverend Nicholas G. Tweed and the St. Paul A.M.E. family. A Homegoing service for Mrs. Nelda Elizabeth Dyer, will be held at St. Paul A.M.E. Church on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at Augustus Funeral Home on from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.,Interment to follow at St Johns Cemetery.
